Coral reef conservation is something that is needed worldwide, but for the purposes of this website, the focus was on coral reefs in Hawaii. This website could be further enhanced by incorporating coral reef conservation efforts around the world, such as Australia, the west coast of the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbeans.
Can you identify the component skills required by all of the problems in the progression?
The component skills would be similar to what was mentioned above. If a course about coral reef conservation include all of the locations mentioned above as well as Hawaii, I would introduce the course with a focus on the west coast of the United States first because it incorporates the widest range of environments. I would then introduce Mexico and the Caribbeans coral reef environments. While these environments are similar to the west coast of the US, they each have unique characteristics, especially in terms of regional culture and they are also beach attractions for tourists. Finally I would introduce Australia and then Hawaii since they are isolated land masses and with their unique environments would be most impacted by surrounding changes.

Based on the feedback, I changed some of the content elements based on the critiques. Dr. Merrill's suggested finding a problem that the viewer can solve that incorporated the information presented. I chose to ask the viewer to create a proposal to the Hawaii Division of Aquatic Resources proposing Waikiki Beach become a Marine Life Conservation District, which is an area designated to conserve or preserve marine life. Changes are made in red.
